Who is the course module "The Global Middle Manager " aimed at?
The Global Middle Manager course is aimed at middle managers or project managers who are going to lead or manage a culturally diverse team. You need to get some new tools into your existing toolbox of management and leadership tools if you want to remain successful with a culturally diverse team.
What will you learn?
You will first of all learn, that one size doesn’t fit all. That comes as a surprise to many middle managers when they go from managing a homogenous team to suddenly managing a culturally diverse team. You will learn how to understand your culturally diverse team and that they may understand your words and actions in very different ways.
It is a prerequisite for attending this course module that you have completed Introduction to Cultural Intelligence and Advanced Cultural Intelligence, as we use the learnings and methodologies from these courses. With the cultural intelligence you have from these two courses you will learn how you can apply these tools as a global middle manager so that you can benefit from having a culturally diverse team.
Which topics do we cover?
- How do you lead and manage a diverse group of people who might come from many different countries, different branches, different professions, different age groups etc?
- How to you discover potential culturally related conflicts before they become a problem to the team effectiveness?
- How do you make sure that everyone, despite different cultural values and preferences work towards the same goal?
- As a global middle manager, you have to claim your own space as you are under pressure from all sides. In this module, you will learn how to become successful in complex, rapid-changing environment.
- Set your own goals.
- Identify your team’s strengths and weaknesses.
- Lead the best and be prepared to scarify the weakest.
- Motivating a culturally diverse Teams.

Why should you choose intercultural training from Gugin?
From we started the company in 2001 we knew we would need an engine that could keep us ahead of the competition and constantly deliver world-class consultancy and training. The world is constantly changing and we need to change with it and indeally develop services that address the agenda of tomorrow. Gugin stands on 3 pillars: Consulting, Training and Research. They fuel each other with great ideas for innovation and service development. When, for instance, we are helping a company with corporate cultural change we might discover cross-cultural issues, we haven’t seen before. We then research it further and find a great solution to the client and we can upgrade our training portfolio.
So you will NEVER experience us using 50 years old research, like Hofstede’s cultural dimensions that promote cultural stereotypes based on nationalities. In fact, our research has shown that these stereotypes don’t exist and that if you are promoting stereotypes like “the french are like… and the Canadians are like…” you will just create more conflicts.
In everything we do, we focus on how you can synergies from the cultural diversity and our approach is generic. Bringing different nationalities together is no different from bringing different companies, different professions, different age groups or different sub-cultures inside a company together. All our training gives you a generic tool for levelraging cultural diversity, no matter where it exists.
We develop generic cultural intelligence you can use everywhere
